Dave Collaton Singer-Songwriter Scholarship
A gifted guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Dave entertained thousands of fans yearly with a rich repertoire of original music. Dave’s truly unique talent to satisfy his fans kept 'em coming back for another round of Six Beer Betty, Pieces, The Cheesesteak Song and many more.
David Joseph Collaton (JAMMER) was born in the winter of 1965 in London, Ontario, Canada. As a teenager, Dave moved to Philadelphia and quickly emerged as the man he would become. Dave was an able and natural artist with his father’s sense of humor. One evening, his mother, a gifted guitarist and singer herself, passed him her guitar and taught him a few chords. After that moment, he never put the guitar down again. David was a self-taught, brilliant musician. Along with a sonorous, soulful voice and knack for songwriting, he launched himself into his life’s work. The Collaton’s basement quickly became home and hangout for David’s jam bands and his friends from Cheltenham High School. Dave’s fans took many trips over the years to see him jam at venues from Philly to the Jersey Shore, Vail, and Fort Myers.
Dave passed away from a long bout with colon cancer and WAM is starting a singer-songwriter scholarship in his name to help other inspired artists follow their lifelong dream of creating original music.
